Apple Pie French Toast


For Apple Pie Spice:
5 tablespoons cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon all spice
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cardamom

For Apple Pie Syrup:
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon apple pie spice
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 cup apple juice

For The French Toast:
2 slices bread
1 tablespoon butter
2 eggs
1/8 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon apple pie spice

  1. Get a pan on medium heat.
  2. Once pan has heated, add a tablespoon of butter, followed by 1 tablespoon of apple pie spice, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and 1/2 a cup of apple juice. Stir to combine. Allow to simmer until it reduces to a syrup-like consistency.
  3. Get another pan on medium heat with a tablespoon of butter, while your pan is heating prepare your french toast batter.
  4. Combine 2 eggs, an 1/8th cup of heavy cream, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of apple pie spice. Whisk until ingredients have combined.
  5. Dip your slices of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak up the french toast batter, then place both slices into your pan, cooking until golden brown on each side.
  6. Once everything is done cooking, plate your french toast, followed by the apple pie syrup.
