Spooky Halloween Snacks & Sweets!
There are no shortage of sweets to enjoy for Halloween, but these are guaranteed to take your fall fun to the next level in the most delicious and creative ways possible!
Homemade or pre-made cheesecake, Milano cookies, crushed Oreos Sandwich cookies, black frosting and Halloween candies, that’s all you need to assemble this super fun and no-bake Halloween treat! With no baking or decorating skills required, simply add your frosting decorations to the Milano cookies, blend up the Oreo’s to bits and pile it on top before you assemble your ghastly graveyard scene on top. A hit with ages 1 to 100, there’s no better way to get into the spooky Halloween spirit!
The perfect combination of salty and sweet! To assemble this ghoulish treat, melt marshmallows with butter together then mix it to coat the popcorn. With the marshmallow helping the popcorn to stick together, use your hands (greased up with butter to avoid sticking) to form the popcorn into whatever ghostly shapes you desire. Lastly, pour melted white chocolate over the popcorn bites and add your edible candy eyes, or use frosting for more classic ghost eyes. Let it all cool and set 15 minutes, or make them a day ahead and store in a tupperware, before serving. BOO-tiful!
There is enough added sugar going around on Halloween, but these spooky treats are a naturally sweet snack you can serve any time! With just some bananas (On Sale Now!), chocolate chips and tangerines they come together very quickly and make the perfect addition to spook-ify any lunch box or snacktime!
A fun snacktivity for the whole family to enjoy, grab a box of Rice Krispie Treats and colorful candy melts for a sweet treat perfect for getting in the Halloween Spirit! While the edible candy eyes are indeed monstrous, they aren’t required as there are plenty of other ways to monsterize your treats. You can dip them in any colors you desire, customize with your own sprinkles or candy bits, or use frosting to make your own monster faces! Any way you dress these up, they are a Halloween home run!
For anyone like us who thinks snacking is the most-fun form of eating, build your own Halloween snack board! Filled with as much food fun as your board can fit, you can build it up with as many spooky savory snacks or sweet treats as you desire! Our suggestion? Plate 3-4 spooky snacks from this list together! (Be sure to tag your pictures on social media with #BestMarket, we would love to see!)
For this boo-tiful and ghoul-icious recipe, start with a batch of cooked and cooled brownies. The marshmallow ghosts are the tricky part of this recipe, combining gelatin with sugar for a homemade marshmallow mix, but you could melt down store-bought marshmallows for the same effect. After collecting all the marshmallow, use a plastic baggie or piping bag to make your ghost shapes on top of the brownies, finishing with some black icing for the eyes.
Grab some Local & On Sale New York Apples and get to work, because these mummy pies are to die for! First, coat diced apples with brown sugar and cinnamon. Then, using your favorite pastry dough, assemble squared and cut lines along the edges of the dough to form the mummy wrap effect. Lay your apple filling along the center and drape the cut pieces of dough over the filling before hitting with an egg wash and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar before baking until golden brown. Take these spooky treats to the next level by drizzling with a sweet glaze, preferably colored with some spooky green, orange or red food coloring! Now that’s all the right kinds of scream-worthy!
Monster Cookie Sandwiches
A simple recipe you can put together using pre-made cookies or your own recipe, all these sweet treats require is colored frosting, some cooled or room temperature cookies, and your choice of decorations to dip the assembled cookie sandwich in. Our favorite sprinkle mix includes strategically-placed edible eyes for the ultimate spook-effect, but any combination of Halloween colors will do!
Complete with candy, gooey caramel, melted marshmallow and Local New York Apples, these nachos are the perfect combination of naturally-sweet apple and your favorite Halloween candies. Apples, marshmallow and caramel pair most-perfectly with chocolate, but no candy is excluded from this spooky snack! Simply swap the candy for other toppings like nuts, raisins, shredded coconut, peanut butter, chocolate syrup, nutella – you name it! Whatever you crave, these dessert nachos are entirely customizable, but always delicious!
Who doesn’t love pizza? Especially when it’s decked out for Halloween in the most delicious mozzarella-mummy fashion! You can go gourmet with homemade pizza dough, or speed up your process with a pre-made pizza dough, or choose the route of ultimate convenience with ready-to-rock bagels, english muffins, pita bread, flatbread or naan bread! No matter your pizza base, the fun happens once you add that layer of sauce and top with strips of mozzarella and either olive, pepperoni rounds or tomatoes to act as the “eyes” of your mummy. Bake for 12-15 minutes until melted and serve!
