Surf & Turf

Romantic Dinner: Steak and Shrimp Surf and Turf
Steak and Shrimp In Creamy Garlic Sauce

Surf and turf is the pairing of a quality cut of beef like filet mignon, flank, strip or ribeye steak and combining it in a dish with a quality seafood like lobster, shrimp, scallops or swordfish. It is often revered as a true indulgence because you are combining two high quality and delicious foods together, making it a great “special occasion” meal as well as a great way to show someone you care! This recipe calls for strip steak with shrimp in a creamy garlic sauce that can be served with your Valentine’s favorite side, commonly mashed potato and/or roasted vegetables like green beans, brussels sprouts, asparagus or broccoli.

They are definitely a labor of love, requiring ample time for dough to set and rise, plus assembly. We’re not sure which we’re more excited about – the pecan, brown sugar, cinnamon and butter filling or the joy of whomever you gift these buns to!

As if a chicken breast/pork or beef loin/your favorite fish fillet wasn’t delicious enough, stuff it with a tasty combo of ingredients and prepare yourself to experience flavor-town bliss. What you stuff it with is up to you, any combination of meat, cheese, veggies, breading with a little egg will usually do great. To stuff, all you need to do is cut a chunky loin or filet thinly, place your fillings inside and roll. Egg Rolls

Romantic Dinner: Egg Rolls

This one may be unconventional, but hear us out. Egg rolls are a delight in all forms. You can stuff them with anything – sweet, savory and combined. Take the Valentine’s day food fun a step further by making them together. While it might seem labor intensive, wrapping is easier than closing an envelope. Lay your egg roll out in a diamond shape, lay a spoonful of filling horizontally in the center, fold in the sides, moisten the exposed edge to create a seal then fry or bake until crispy. From s’mores and apple pie, to mac and cheese and pepperoni pizza, just about everything is awesome in an egg roll.
