Mother’s Day Must-Try’s!
Make mom’s day with any one of these next-level, mouth-watering culinary creations!
Imagine anyone’s delight when you drop a plate of this soft, fluffy, syrup-laden goodness in front of them. Now imagine that it’s your mom who knows you made them all in her honor. 💖 This recipe is simple and to the point, with the only crucial step being to not over-mix your batter. The only difference between these and usual pancakes? Some ricotta and lemon zest added to the batter.👌
Cooking for a crowd? Take that a bag-o-bagels to the next level with this delightfully simple and family-friendly recipe. Ready in just 20 minutes, all you need are ½ as many bagels as there are people, mayo, prosciutto (or bacon) and eggs. After cutting your bagel holes to 2’’, spread a layer of mayo on the cut side of the bagel and lay mayo-side-down on a baking sheet. Wrap prosciutto around the inside of the bagel hole, crack an egg in there, season, bake to desired doneness and voila! Egg in a hole bagels that taste just as good as they look.
Where some pastries are a true labor-of-love, these gorgeous treats use a package of puff pastry to make quick work of homemade danishes. Ingredients are delightfully simple, only requiring the puff pastry, cream cheese, sugar, egg, vanilla, lemon zest and your choice of fresh berries for the danish, plus some sugar, more lemon zest and lemon juice for the lemon glaze. The result? A visually and tastily satisfying treat perfect for your breakfast, brunch or lunch.
Does mom like it hot? Then these jalapeño cornbread waffles are your ticket to golden child-dom. As if these stepped-up waffles aren’t enough, this amazing recipe also tops them with crispy, oven-baked chicken tenders with a white gravy that makes them truly worthy for your one-and-only momma bear. You’ll need a waffle-maker and some patience to make your waffle batter from scratch, but with an end result this good, nothing is too much for mom.
Make these muffins just so you can say, “but mom, they’re nowhere near as sweet as you.” Bread, egg, milk, vanilla, sugar, cinnamon, ✨magic ✨. Rather than making your french toasts one at a time, this genius recipe soaks bread cubes in your egg mixture and distributes it into a muffin tin to let the oven do all the work. Not only does this make for 100% delicious and picture-perfect muffins, but you’ll also have more time to enjoy with mom while they bake. A win-win-win!
You can forget the old-fashioned and time-consuming process of baking potatoes, because this recipe has a #foodhack for the books! Rather than baking, simply poke a few holes in your sweet potatoes with a fork and microwave 4-5 until soft and tender. While that does it’s thing, cook your scrambled eggs, spinach, and any other veggies you desire. Slice your sweet potato in half when done, add the scramble and top with your choice of prosciutto, bacon bits, cheese, salsa, guacamole, hot sauce, etcetera!
Watch out, because we saved the best for last! Complete with blackberries, white chocolate and an oh-so-glamorously delectable lavender glaze, your mom will definitely be telling all her friends about how her favorite son/daughter made her these scones! It may sound fancy, but this recipe makes quick-work of these pastries even for a less-experienced baker. The hardest part would be the glaze, but even that is as easy as heating up some milk, letting dried lavender steep in it for a bit, straining it out then adding powdered sugar. So they sound fancy, taste amazing, and you get to say you made them from scratch? We’re almost tempted to call this recipe “how to win Mother’s Day”!
