10 Gifts For The Chef In Your Life

Gifts For Chefs

We all know someone who loves to cook! Whether they have a well-developed kitchen or are just starting out with the essentials, these gifts are always welcome in a busy kitchen!

1.) Prep Bowls

A post shared by Duralex USA (@duralexusa) on

Whether they’re plastic, glass or metal, one can never have enough prep bowls! Perfect for cooking, baking and serving, a variety of bowls will never go unappreciated by a chef. You can find both small and large sets.

2.) Food Processor

Available in a variety of different sizes, food processors make magic happen. From pestos and dips to nut butters and minced garlic, a good processor makes quick work of tasks that would otherwise require lots of manual work. Some food you can use a food processor to make include:

  • Guacamole
  • Ice Cream
  • Oats To Oat Flour
  • Bread To Breadcrumbs (Or cookie to cookie crumbs!)
  • Whole Nuts To Chopped Nuts
  • Broccoli Tots
  • Hummus
  • Chocolate Mousse
  • Ground Meat
  • Salad Dressings
  • Sauces

3.) Cast Iron Pan

A post shared by @ketoventures_ on

There is a reason we see so many of those recipe videos using a cast iron skillet! They are the best at providing an even heat when cooking, plus you can get a beautiful saute/sear on your food before putting the whole thing in the oven to finish up. While they do require a bit of know-how when it comes to seasoning and cleaning, a cast iron skillet is a must-have if you love cooking.

Of course we can trust “Tasty” for a crash course on owning a cast iron skillet.

4.) Spice Organizer

Few things are more frustrating than searching for a particular spice when you need it right then and there! Whether it is a D.I.Y. system or a fancy shmancy rack, anything that makes grabbing for the spice you need easier is a luxury in the kitchen.

5.) Rubber Spatulas

A post shared by Psychonurse6 (@psycho_nurse6) on

An often underestimated tool, rubber spatulas are for way more than just baking! Silicone heads can withstand high heat, so it is great for stirring sauces, omelets & onion/garlic aromatics in pots or pans. Some uses, to name a few:

  • Scraping – get every drop out of that bowl/jar/processor/glass
  • Folding – the wide head makes it perfect for folding wet ingredients into dry
  • Spreading – icing, jam, condiments & more

6.) Knife Sharpener

It is plain to see that a chef’s knife is their most valuable tool. A quality knife sharpener is perfect for helping them keep their knives in tip-top shape!

7.) Measuring Spoons & Cups

This is another kitchen tool where more is always welcome! You would be surprised how easy it is to use your teaspoon for a wet ingredient only to find you need to use it for a dry ingredient a moment later. Rather than dropping what you’re doing to clean it off, reaching for another will have them thanking you for that extra set!

8.) Quality Pans & Cooking / Cooling Racks

A post shared by Steve (@stephenjames85) on

While you might recognize them for their more popular usage as cooling racks, oven-safe cooking racks are also excellent for allowing meats/fish/veggies to cook with full air circulation, elevated away from the fats and juices that can make things soggy. We use wire racks for bacon wrapped avocado fries, steak & potatoes, zucchini pizza bites and any other time you would like to cook foods off of the surface of your pan.

9.) Hand Mixer

A post shared by Nicole (@nicoleszuckerwerk) on

Gone are the days of manual whisking & mixing! A handheld mixer is easy to use and saves loads of time! While this can be used for blending eggs or sauces, the best usage is baking! We love using hand mixers for quick homemade cakes and frostings!

10.) Salt & Pepper Grinders

They can be fancy, basic, retro, modern, high-tech or basic, but one thing is for sure – fresh cracked pepper and freshly grated salt is a truly gourmet way to season your dishes!
