Use popsicle sticks for a kid friendly version, and feel free to sweeten them even more with mini muffins or donut holes! Excellent for barbecues, beach days, picnics and even lazy weeknights, these are always a good idea!
Salty, crunchy Ritz crackers make the ultimate base for a simple no-cook treat that you can whip up anytime. This recipe calls for cream cheese and your favorite fruit, but the choice is yours! Whatever you favorite toppings may be, you can swap the creamy base for Greek yogurt, Cool Whip, honey whipped ricotta… even peanut butter or Nutella! Some topping combos we think would be excellent:
- Ritz + Peanut Butter + Grape Jelly
- Ritz + Ricotta Cheese + Cherries
- Ritz + Cream Cheese + Blueberries
- Ritz + Cool Whip + Peaches
- Ritz + Brie + Pear
- Ritz + Velveeta + Apples
Most anything dipped in chocolate is a win, but in the summertime there is nothing better. With so many fresh fruits to choose from, the sweet-on-sweet action is too much to pass up. Requiring a little bit of prep work to melt the chocolate and let set in the refrigerator, these are another goodie you can prepare ahead of time and keep in the freezer. You don’t have to stop at chocolate either, you can also dip your fruit in yogurt for a lighter version!
All you need are a set of popsicle molds and a blender to set up a summer of fun making these goodies! The best part about making your own fruit popsicles is you can easily sneak in healthy ingredients like superfood spinach or protein-packed peanut butter or Greek yogurt to make them a step above store-bought. Whether you make them lean and green or fun and fruity, the choice is yours! Simply freeze your fruit and blend with some water and ice cubes, pour into your mold and let freeze for a grab and go treat great for all ages!
We’re big fans of no-bake, which make these “cookies” an excellent and easy option for a summertime snack. The process is super simple, just melt down your “coating”, mix it up with your choice of crunchy base and form into little stacks to set until solid. Made with a white chocolate, butterscotch and peanut butter coating, the haystacks in this recipe use crunchy chow mein noodles, but you can easily swap the noodles for pretzels, cereal or other crunchy snacks like Goldfish or Teddy Grahams.
At the mere mention of “nachos” we get hungry, and this apple version is no different! You can use your imagination when it comes to the melty drizzle and toppings, which is what makes this a super fun recipe to not only eat, but make as well! While this version uses melted chocolate and caramel with pretzel bits and almonds, you can also enjoy a peanut butter, marshmallow or yogurt drizzle with candy, cookie or cracker pieces and even sprinkles!
Easy, fun to make and super kid-friendly, banana “sushi” allows you to pile your favorite ingredients on a sweet and filling banana. Using the sandwich spread and toppings of your choice, you can make these as healthy or indulgent as you wish. Some of our favorite banana sushi combos include:
- Banana, Almond Butter & Mini Chocolate Chips
- Banana, Nutella & Crushed Peanuts
- Banana, Peanut Butter & Chocolate Sprinkles
- Banana, Chocolate & Pistachio
- Banana, Yogurt & Crushed Chocolate Cookie
Enjoy all your snacks in one go by making your own snack mix! Toss your favorite sweet, salty, crunchy, flavor-filled treats into a bowl, mix and serve! This mix is epic, with candy, cookies, raisins, cereal, pretzels AND nuts mixed in with popcorn. We love this because you will never get a boring hand-full, and you can customize with your favorites! You can stick to more traditional trail mix style, or go beyond by drizzling melted white chocolate or peanut butter in for an even more indulgent treat!
