Best Market Gives Back!

Great Deals, Groceries & Giving Back

What a year 2016 has been! With 11 new stores, hundreds of new team members, new food ventures in fried chicken, sandwiches, salad, juices, kosher & more, it’s easy to nab this as our busiest year yet! As the fastest growing supermarket on Long Island, we know we owe our continued growth to the communities we serve. So as busy as it might have been for us in-store, it was also within in the food pantries, youth groups, community centers, schools and organizations of your town that we were hard at work as well!

The culture here at Best Market is one that has always promoted doing your Best – both for yourself and those around you… and that isn’t just inspiration for our team members individually! As a company we are constantly at work to find ways to improve the lives of our patrons, neighbors, team members and friends.

One program we recently featured was “Best Wishes”. At the small price of $5, customers were given an option to donate a bag of nonperishable food items to the local charity of that stores choice. And wowza – you guys sure did donate!!!

Over 9,800 Bags Donated With Best Wishes

Thanks to you, our Best Wishes program shattered the records from years before! In just the month of November, we raised and donated over 9,800 bags of food – each containing 5 meals – to thousands of families in need across the tri-state! Thank you for making this possible!

It isn’t only during the holidays we’re working to do the right thing. Thanks to a partnership with L.I. Cares Inc., we’re fighting for a hunger-free Long Island every day! Every night when we close any food that went unpurchased is given off to L.I. Cares. Their team then redistributes it to food banks across the Island to help those that need it most! Out of approximately 283,700 people on Long Island that receive emergency food each year (64,900 every week), we’ve donated over 12,944 lbs. of food since January – a number that still climbs each day!

Over 2,000 lbs. of food raised for Emergency Family Shelter Of Brentwood

We work hard to be a familiar friend to the many communities we serve in as many ways we can, and it’s no secret! The phones at Best Market HQ are always ringing with requests for a donation here, a sponsorship there and to host local events – calls we are happy to answer. From Boy/Girl Scout groups and local libraries to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and New York’s-Finest Police, Fire, and Emergency men and women – we do our part to improve the lives and missions of those around us. It’s the least we can do to show our thanks for letting us be your neighborhood’s first choice!

In 2016 alone Best Market successfully sponsored and donated to over 541 organizations, clubs & institutions throughout the tri-state.
